Is There Really a Quick Weight Loss Diet


It depends on how we define quick, right! Each person will be different on how quickly they will lose weight because of the food and lifestyle choices they make every day. There can be huge changes within a few months by following the Hallelujah Diet and ultimately it is your choice on how quickly these changes occur.  Let’s get into some specifics:

It's not about how much you eat!
This is not a diet that you need to count calories or worry about how much you eat. Since I eat more than the average person this was a good fit for me.

When you adopt this diet your focus is on what you eat rather than how much we eat. This is a pleasant change!! It’s important that the diet will cause us to get leaner and stronger, increase our natural resistance to illness, provide active nutrition, and lose weight not just water.

A quick weight loss diet is the result of lifestyle changes!
Weight and health - Critical partners!
​After all, what good is it going to do us if we lose the weight and along with it our health. This is on the mind of many who are looking to soon retire. Many diet plans out there may not consider this important aspect.

 I adopted this diet plan to regain my health and eliminate the need for high blood pressure and high cholesterol drugs. I not only lost 35 pounds but within three months my doctor took me completely off of the medications. Within the next two months I was down another 14 pounds and continue to maintain my ideal weight after many years on this diet.

Depending on the report you read, Americans are approaching 70% of the population as being overweight. This is creating many different emotions in people, some described as desperate by individuals themselves. 

Or are you finding yourself wasting an enormous amount of time and effort just thinking about losing weight? You’re not alone if you do. First get rid of the cause for weight gain!
1.   No refined sugar!
This is the primary cause of weight gain! Refined sugar is extremely high in caloric value, is addictive, and has no health benefits. USDA recommends 40 grams per day for the average person from all sources, however the average person intakes around 200 grams not including the refined carbohydrates consumed, which rapidly turns into sugar.

Soft Drinks – one soda contains more sugar than the USDA recommendation for the entire day. 1 soda has around 11 teaspoons of sugar, 44 grams of sugar, 176 calories. One 12oz can a day could increase your weight by 15 pounds in a year.

Diet Soda – studies show that diet soda users gain notably more weight than the non-users do.

Refined Carbohydrates – these have little or no fiber such as white flower and white rice. These will make you fat just like refined sugars do!

Refined Grains – creates havoc with our blood sugar levels and make us fat.

*Unrefined carbs, like whole grains, beans, legumes, fruits and vegetables, contain fiber and are powerful fat fighters.

2.   Fiber – studies show that people who have acceptable weight eat 30% more fiber than those who are over-weight.
Fiber is a natural appetite suppressant. It absorbs water and expands in the stomach to create a sense of fullness that will last longer. The brain gets the message that your hunger has been satisfied.

Sources of fiber comes from plant foods.

High fiber in our diets help us to lose weight because it contains more bulk and will fill us up with less calories. It also stabilizes blood sugar levels and stimulates less insulin secretion, thus weight loss.

3.   Animal Fat – Here’s the hard one for most people. The animal flesh, the way they are raised and fed along with the amount that we eat today is much different than years ago. The fat content of the meat can be three times more than what it used to be. This is not fat that can necessarily be seen but is in the meat itself. Meat today is the main course for two to three meals every day for most Americans.

Today the average American consumes a high fat diet, about 100 pounds of animal fat yearly. Fat contains 9 calories per gram, 408,600 calories per year, 1,119 calories each day.

Weight Gain is due to the high intake of calories from fat. God intended us to get our fat from complex carbohydrates. Gen. 1:29

4.       Salt – most of us probably have heard to cut back on the salt. The refined salt, white, has been stripped of all the healthy ingredients and causes many health issues. Avoid this processed salt altogether.

It is devoid of fiber and causes the body to retain fluid. The body sees the table salt as a protoplasmic poison and reacts by diluting the highly irritating crystals. This retained water adds weight to our bodies.

It is possible to lose a few pounds or more than 15 pounds of water in just a few days after starting the Hallelujah Diet. A high quality Sea Salt is recommended in this diet plan.

Develop your exercise plan!
Exercise is a very important part of our diet plan but doesn't have to be torture...unlike some of the commercials and shows that create the mindset that we have to go through a lot of pain just to lose some pounds. 

Here is a basic overview of an exercise plan that works:
  • Walk, as fast as you can for 30 minutes minimum 3 times per week. Running is not necessary but if this is your thing, go for it.  Outdoors if possible or treadmill.
  • Two to three times per week, do resistance exercises. Use dumbbells, your own body weight, and stretching exercises.
    • For the dumbbell exercises work the main muscle groups by doing curls, shoulder press, seated side lateral raise, upright row, or pick the ones that work best for you. Here's a web site you may want to consider for graphics on these and more exercises. 
    • ​Use your own body as weight by doing push ups, knee bends/ squats, and sit ups.
      • Between exercise groups do stretching exercises to lengthen and build muscle.  
      • The most effective process of weight resistance training is to use enough weight to do three sets of 10-12 repetitions each with a minute or so of rest between sets. For example, use enough weight that you can do at least 10 curls then rest for a minute or two and then 10 more curls. Do this three times for the best results.
    • The great news is that you will not only look and feel better but you will burn more calories at rest by building muscle. This is great news if you are looking to lose a few pounds. It usually takes me an hour for all  these exercises but it can be done in 30 minutes if necessary.
